Exclusive Track Premiere: “A Breakthrough” From Angel Studio’s ‘Brave the Dark’ Soundtrack

Since teaming up to form the music collective Th3rdstream, Roahn Hylton and Jacob Yoffee have forged a unique voice within the music industry. Their compositions have been featured on countless hit shows, and they have worked alongside many of the biggest artists in the industry. Their music will next reach audiences as the backdrop of Angel Studios’ new film Brave the Dark (you can read our review of the film here).

Scoring the film—which tells an inspiring story of how a compassionate teacher changed the course of a troubled student’s life—represents a high point for the duo. Speaking of the experience, Yoffee said, “Cinematically it’s rare to have a film that goes from such lows to the overwhelming highs that viewers are left with in Brave the Dark.  As composers this was a beautiful canvas for music, and collaborating with [director] Damian [Harris] to help bring Nate’s story to the big screen has been a career highlight.”

Hylton added, “Brave the Dark is an incredible story about humanity and connection. It reminds you of what’s possible in storytelling; the ability to remind the audience of what’s the best in themselves. Stories like this are absolutely necessary in these uncertain times, and it’s been an absolute pleasure to have been able to be a part of it.”

The Collision is thrilled to provide an exclusive premiere of “A Breakthrough,” a short but evocative track from the Brave the Dark — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (released through Lakeshore Records). Both the film and the soundtrack will be released on January 24th. You can listen to the track below.
