Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

The Collision (thecollision.org) is a ministry of Blackaby Ministries International (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We value our readers, listeners, and supporters and respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit thecollision.org, subscribe to our updates, contact us, or support our ministry, how we use and protect that information, and the choices and rights you have. By using our website, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We do not give, sell, rent, or loan your personally identifiable information to any third party for their own marketing purposes. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate our website and communicate with you, when legally required, or when you direct us to do so.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Information you provide — such as your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or updates, become a supporter (“Become a Collider”), or contact us with a question or comment.
  • Donation information — if you choose to give, our “Donate” link takes you to our third-party donation platform (Bloomerang), which is hosted separately from thecollision.org. Your donation and payment details are collected and processed on that platform; we do not collect or store your full credit or debit card number on our systems.
  • Information collected automatically — when you browse our site we may collect your IP address, browser and device type, and information about how you use the site, through cookies and similar technologies.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your questions and provide the content and services you request.
  • Send you our newsletter, ministry updates, or promotional emails, but only if you have chosen to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve our website.
  • Understand how visitors use our site so we can make it better.
  • Acknowledge and steward donations, where you have chosen to give.
  • Comply with our legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.

Donations

The Collision does not process payments on its own website. When you choose to give, you are directed from thecollision.org to our third-party donation platform, Bloomerang, which handles all donations through its own secure, PCI-DSS-compliant system. We never have access to or store your full card number. Any information you provide during the donation process is handled by that platform under its own privacy policy.

Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. We may also use analytics services that collect usage information through these technologies. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the site may not work properly if you do.

How We Share Information

We share personal information only as needed to run our website and ministry, including with:

  • Service providers who help us operate, such as our website hosting and platform providers, our email and newsletter service provider, our donation platform (Bloomerang), and analytics providers.
  • Legal and safety purposes — when required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect our rights, our supporters, or others.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or use it for third-party advertising or retargeting.

Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including communicating with you, stewarding donations, and meeting legal, tax, or accounting requirements.

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information both online and offline. Information submitted through our site is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS technology, shown by “https” and a padlock indicator in your browser’s address bar. Donation and payment information is handled in a secure, PCI-DSS-compliant environment by our donation platform. While no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, we work to safeguard your information using appropriate measures.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA) and several other U.S. states have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you and how it is used.
  • Request a copy of your personal information.
  • Request that we correct or delete your personal information.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email us at n.carlson@blackaby.org and we may need to verify your identity before responding.

European Union & UK Visitors (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We process your personal information on the following legal bases: to respond to your requests and provide the services you ask for, to comply with our legal obligations, with your consent (for example, newsletter and marketing emails), and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving our website and ministry. You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Have inaccurate information corrected.
  • Request erasure of your personal information.
  • Restrict or object to how we process your information.
  • Request that your information be transferred to you or another provider (data portability).
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact us at n.carlson@blackaby.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

For more information about cookies and how to disable them, you can consult the information at All About Cookies.

Without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of the Website content and features. Please note that rejecting cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads when you visit our Site. In the event you opt-out, you will still see non-personalized advertisements on the Website.

  • Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps.
